Great Explorations is a 3,000 square foot interactive
exhibition targeting children ages 5 -11 and their families. Immersive environments provide visitors with the opportunity to learn about the process of exploration and observation while exploring a Tundra, Rainforest and Undersea environment. Advisors to the project included content specialists as well as human development and education specialists. Exhibit A conducted a Front End Evaluation as well as a Formative study with children within the exhibition’s target age range. Emphasis was placed on supplementing the local school curriculum in science, social studies and history areas, and specific design attention was paid to creating avenues for in-depth school programs within the space.
